Management Team

Prof. Dr. Christian Becker is co-founder of Syntab and serves as Chief Scientific Officer. In parallel, he has been head of the Institute of Biological Chemistry at University of Vienna since 2011. His major research interests are the controlled modification of peptides and proteins to obtain tailor-made molecules, e.g. modified with polymers, or posttranslational modifications for bio-chemical and biotechnological applications.

Between 2004 and 2008 he worked at the Max-Planck-Institute of Molecular Physiology in Dortmund as a group leader in the department of physical biochemistry. He has two years of experience in the biotech industry working for Gryphon Therapeutics Inc. in South San Francisco, USA, from 2002 to 2003. He obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Dortmund in 2001 and his diploma in 1998. Prior to his engagement at the University of Vienna, he was professor and head of the group of protein chemistry at the Technical University Munich since 2008.

Claudia Altdorf, Dipl. Bioing. (FH), focuses on translational research and preclinical drug development. As Senior Research Director at Syntab Therapeutics, she coordinates the development activities required to advance the company’s lead drug candidate toward IND readiness and first-in-human (FIH) clinical studies. Drawing on ten years of experience within the company, she brings in-depth knowledge of its scientific and development history and ensures continuity as the company progresses toward clinical development. Her work involves integrating scientific, nonclinical, and regulatory workstreams, coordinating internal and external contributors, and aligning ongoing activities with key development milestones. She holds a Diploma in Bioengineering from FH Aachen, Campus Jülich.

Dr. Yalda Mirzaei, PhD, is a Senior Scientist and member of the leadership team at Syntab Therapeutics, where she contributes to the company’s scientific strategy and leads the preclinical development of immune system engagers for cancer immunotherapy. Her research focuses on translational immuno-oncology, preclinical cancer models, and the mechanistic and pharmacological characterization of immunotherapeutic candidates to advance their clinical translation.

Before joining Syntab, she worked as a Research Scientist at RWTH Aachen University Hospital, conducting research in preclinical cancer models and immunotherapy. Earlier in her career, she founded and managed her own veterinary clinic and pharmacy in Iran, gaining over a decade of experience in veterinary healthcare, business management, and leadership. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Urmia University, Iran, followed by a second doctoral degree (Dr. rer. medic., PhD) and an MSc in Laboratory Animal Science from the Medical Faculty of RWTH Aachen University.

Alexa Reinke, MSc, is a molecular medicine scientist, working with a focus on experimental research and preclinical drug development. In her role as Scientist at Syntab Therapeutics, she conducts in vitro laboratory research, leads collaboration with external partners and CROs. Her work involves planning, performing and coordinating of in-vitro research activities. By combining practical laboratory experience with scientific knowledge and cross-functional project support, she contributes to the development of novel drug candidates and advancing promising immunotherapeutics toward clinical translation. She holds a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine from Ulm University.
